September 25, 2018, Louisville, KY - Genscape, Inc., announces the merger of Locus Energy, a solar monitoring and data analytics platform provider for the solar photovoltaic (PV) market, with Also Energy, an established leader in the solar monitoring industry. Genscape acquired Locus in 2015 and positioned the business for this new, strategic partnership with Also. The combined entity will benefit from broader geographic scope, improved segment coverage, and will be the largest independent software vendor (ISV) in both North America and the world at greater than 14 gigawatts (GW) of assets under management in North America and 25 GW f globally. The combined entity will serve the entire solar landscape, from small scale residential installations to large-scale utility plants. , The formation of both companies will allow for greater support through the entire project lifecycle, with support and engineering resources deployed around the world. “The Locus/Also partnership makes perfect sense,” said Jon Ecker, Genscape CEO. “This is a practical move in everyone’s best interest, and we’re excited to see Locus thrive in a new chapter.” Leaders reviewed the asset portfolio and determined AlsoEnergy to be the best home for the core of Locus Energy’s business, better positioning it for growth and allowing Genscape to focus on its key strengths.
